Another great day at superbike school. A little hot but we got some nice cloud cover and breezes at times. And of course, we got to try the BMW S1000RR.
Level 2 is hard work. Vision, vision, vision and body positioning. They made some big changes with my BP in particular. I had trouble making the adjustment but the results are much less weight on my hands when leaned over, a very welcome change. The visual drills take a lot of work, especially choosing reference points, but it's an effective system. I've got a lot of work to do and new muscle memory that needs to be established.
As for the BMW, it's surprisingly easy to ride. Rain mode wasn't much fun but they let us (level 2) use sport mode which was quite nice. The extra power took some getting used to but it handles so nicely and even has shift assist (quick shifter). I can feel the extra weight compared to my R6, but overall the handling is sharper and superior to any bike I've ridden. I'd still rather have a Super Duke on the street, but on the track the BMW is seriously sweet.
