And to answer April's question, I'll probably start riding again when I get my new helmet....

So have you ridden with it yet?

I went on my first long ride with it on today.

The good: It vents incredibly well.

The bad: its loud. It made a really bad howling sound, but I installed a chin curtain in it and that helped. It fits just like my HJC FS-15, but it seemed to take a little longer to break in.

So far I'm happy with it.

If you guys don't mind, I'd really like to get in a track day as well. September is rough for me, but I'd really be interested in an October day if you guys decide to push it a bit further out.

- The way the shield kind of "snaps shut" and seals in the final closed position.

- The edge of my left ear is barely touching the liner. It's a nuisance that is becoming less noticeable, but was aggravating for a time.

I know what you mean about the "snaps shut" part.  I love that "gachunk" sound that my Arai makes when I close the visor.  It feels so substantial, like you just locked your face into a bank vault. 

As for the ear thing, I wear a skull cap and tuck my ears into them.  I've noticed that a couple of my helmets make me a little uncomfortable around the ears when I don't wear my skull cap.  Might want to give it a try.  They're only $10 or so.

OMG, how many helmets does Jim have now?  It seems like he's getting a new one every month. 

I've been eying the closeout on newenough for a while now, but just couldn't pull the trigger (especially on that copper color).  Luckily, I found one on ebay and got it for $100 + $20 shipping.  Saved myself about $30 and got the color I wanted.  I'm so freaking proud of myself.

And to answer April's question, I'll probably start riding again when I get my new helmet....  and iridium shield.  Yay me!
