Leather Jacket ???
« on: February 04, 2005, 05:21:45 AM »
I decided to buy a Leather Jacket and maybe a Leather Chap. Anyone know a good place to buy one? I don't really like those classic look (which a lot of crusier wearing it) thou and I would love to try them on first. The reason are, it gets me warmer than textile (riding at night) and it suppose to provide more protection.

BTW. I have checked Coaster Air but it's pretty tight and look more sporty (I've had 3 sporty textile jacket already). Any thought?

first gear s-pilot 2000 jacket at motorcyclecloseouts.com for $195 (orig $500+)

they have a few sizes left, women's sizes too.  great venting for hot days, very warm with the liner for the coldest days.

this is a very nice and high quality jacket.  you can find your size by finding the newer version, the z pilot, in stores and trying it on.

if mccloseouts doesn't have the size, i found a few other sites that have it for mid 200's.

good luck.

If you know your size and what you specifically want, have you tried good ol EBay?  There is just about everything you can think of including a few you never even heard of there.  Just a thought.
Hows the riding going.  You seem to get around a good deal on that Yamaha!  I'm disappointed I have to get a clutch job on my 2000 V-Star.  May look to buy a newer one.  I like them and there is probably enough power for me.  I did look at the Suzuki C50 and it's very nice, but don't know about the quality.

Thanks Richard,

I end up with Coaster Air Jacket ;D seem like I can't live without Cortech (Tourmaster) Line ???.

Yup I have a lot of fun with my V-Star, in fact I ride every opportunity I get. Last weekend I rode in the rain for a couple of hour on freeway which was my first and not going to be my last. Tuesday I went to Ventura to get this Jacket at Helmet House and then ride to Ontario to meet my friends which is another 200 miles under my belt.

Suzuki C50 (Volusia 800) is one of the top in its class. It gets pretty good review all the time. I had eyes on it before I bought V* but too bad it is a little too big for me (I am only 5.6').

Where you take your bike for repairing? I know some place which is pretty good and they might do it for less than Stealer (dealer).

You and I should get together sometime. Like I said we can ride a long PCH. I can also pick you up at your place.
