Sunday 1/30 Malibu
« on: January 29, 2005, 11:21:23 AM »
I'm planning on checking out Malibu on Sunday. If anyone wants to join up I'll be at the McDonalds on 2nd and Colorado at 10, probably won't leave til 10:30. Planning on doing some variation of Mulholland & the Rock Store. Let me know if you want to join up.
I need the sunshine in the morning, I'm heading for the open road.

per my post in discussions, i have had to patch my rear tire with one of those external mushroom type patches--it seems to be holding air ok, and no leaks... think its ok to ride on?  my new tire is on its way

Peter that sucks :o

I'm not sure what the recommended thing is with plugs. I do know the rear on the Kawi had a plug when we first got it and it was over 1000 miles before we got new tires on it---I didn't know there was a plug at the time.

Bummer, April :( :( :( Losing your wallet can be a real hassle. Your post inspired me, I also did the canyum run. I took Sunset Blvd. to PCH and headed north to Neptune's Net. I had a quick bowl of clam chowder and headed south on PCH to Kanan Road, then to Mulholland Hwy to the Rock Store. That is one twisty mofo road. That was my first time there and I just could not stand the smell from the backed up septic tanks!!!!!!!WTF, the effluent was running down the road and people treated it like seasonal spring. UGH! After that experience I headed out of the mountains via Las Virgenes Rd. to the 101 Fwy and back home. I was back home by 3 pm and took a long 3-hour nap. It's hard getting old. Anyways, I'm glad everyone had a safe ride. Ciao.

Freaking computer....piece o junk....this is the second time I tried to reply and the damn thing just keeps saying nope I'm done and turning off

I had a good day even if I didn't remember to put my wallet away after getting gas.

The Rock Store was pretty stinky, when thay gonna clean up that mess?? Mulholland is always a fun road, a bit dirty still but not to bad. I especially like the part between Kanaan and the Rock Store even though I was super sloooow today. We'll have to try some other roads next time, I know a bunch run through.

Thanks Peter and Cammie, both the ride and the conversation were great

I had a lot of fun today.  Thanks Peter and April.  Was really debating about whether I should go or not.  Turns out that work went more quickly than I thought it would.  The weather, the ride and the company were very therapeutic.

April, sorry about the wallet.

Take care,
Cammie

seemed like you guys had a pretty good ride. Sorry I missed it. I did the Oterga HWY this morning. It was fun but freezing like hell.
