Road conditions
« on: January 13, 2005, 11:06:34 AM »
I collected some of this stuff from other forums and the radio....
Closed, at least in part:
Ortega
ACH
Big Tujunga
Sand Canyon
San fransquito Canyon
California Incline to the PCH
Topanga Canyon
Stunt Rd

Pretty much everything in the Sant Monica Mts are dirty with mud and rocks on the road

Anything else to add?

SR 39

   [LOS ANGELES CO.]
IS CLOSED FROM 2.7 MI NORTH OF AZUSA TO ISLIP SADDLE (LOS ANGELES CO)
- DUE TO STORM DAMAGE - MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

ah my playground is closed, i like going up there and just riding around going to the point where the road is permenantly closed then riding back down. wished they would reopen it to connect to highway 2.

Morris dam was pretty much full last week, must of been aweful after the last storms.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

I just got back from Angeles Crest and it's open all the way to Newcomb's Ranch and then a few miles past that.  The road conditions are actually pretty good until you pass the intersection of Upper Big Tujunga, then there are ice patches in the shade and gravel from the snow plows.  If you're gonna ride it this weekend, take it really slow after Upper Big T or just turn around right there.  Also it's really, really cold.   ;D

Cheers,

Ray
