This is interesting news....   Joe Rocket has a reputation (not much unlike Icon's) for creating gear that is street oriented, but sacrifices much of the safety features that is the purpose of wearing gear in the first place.   I'm hoping that their financial backing will create a new line that is acceptable for the safety conscious while still creating a street friendly line.

I guess we'll have to see what "premier" means

That's odd. I've got Joe Rocket gear and if it had any more body armour to it, I'd be unable to move. The jacket has elbow pads, shoulder padding, and a large pad on the back. The riding pants have padded knees but thats about it, so improvement could be made there. I've looked at lots of similar stuff and they seem to have as much protection as any other maker in that price range.

Joe Rocket has a huge array of gear, from bare bones entry level to some pretty protective higher end stuff. My question on this stuff is will it be fashion or function.
