Annual Holiday Party-7:30 pm, Saturday December 17, 2011

Does this date work for everyone for our annual Holiday Potluck?  O has volunteered to have the party at his house.  Can we play that game where each person brings a wrapped gift and people steal the gifts from one another (haven't done this in years but I remember it being really funny)?  Cajun seafood sound good?

Sounds good to me.  I'll mark it on my calendar as tentative.  Are we doing boiling crab again or should we grill?

There's a new Boiling Crab-like place in Costa Mesa I want to try if that's ok.  Let's plan on 7:30 pm.  We'll have some drinks and the seafood covered.  Please bring whatever else you would like to eat/drink and a wrapped present.

Sorry for the late response; Lupe and I will be coming down. I'll bring some booze, but what are we lacking as far as food goes?

Glad you can make it.  We have cookies for dessert and seafood for the main course.  Perhaps an appetizer or salad would be good.

No idea what I'll bring for food and gift, but let me know if there's anything specific that you guys want.  I'm thinking of just bringing some store bought stuff or maybe a couple of pies from Polly's like last time.

I had a great time, as always.  Thanks Owen and Camille for hosting.  The crab was delicious.  I tried to learn a song on the usb piano, but the keys hardly register any presses.  At least it's fun to pound on. 

My gift to everyone is some newly acquired knowledge.

You can sew up some rice (maybe dried beans might work better) into a small sack and microwave it to use as a pocket warmer.  It'll keep your pocket warm for over an hour.  I asked someone at work to make one for me, and it works pretty nicely.  I just nuke it for a minute and keep it in my coat pocket.  My rice sack is a little large, though.
