My morning at OTD Cyclesports
« on: September 05, 2009, 12:40:28 PM »
I went today to get my bike serviced at what we all know as LA Cyclesports in Inglewood.  I had a chance to look at the zillions of bikes they have warehoused.  Look, I love my beautiful blue CBR600f4i and i am attracted to it and wouldn't want anything different.  Having said that, I saw a blue and white Triumph 675, and it was like seeing an old girlfriend that you still have feelings for, but would never act on.  That slut of a streetbike was H O T Hot!  The Speed Triple is also very handsome and mean looking.  The Sprints are wayyyy tall.

What is up with those enormous scooters???  I saw one that looked like a thalidomide motorcycle--it blurred the lines between proper bike and scooter.

The GSX-Rs are stunning.  The CBRs are, to use a yiddish word, ungapatch.  It means busy, overdone, fussy.

They have an air conditioned waiting room there now, and it was a very thumbs up experience overall.  I met 2 very cool guys who may hook up with us.  North and Ken may well come a-ridin'.

Riding home, i felt very virtuous because my bike had brand new oil/fluids.  I had forgotten how much "fun" lane splitting on the 405 is  ::)

Wow, an air conditioned waiting room. That's the first good thing I've heard about that service dept.

Glad the bike is up and running. ;D

The 675 is TALL but I love the Street Triple. I actually prefer it to the Speed Trip, You have to work to hard to keep the Speed in check.

So how does it feel to be back to riding?
I need the sunshine in the morning, I'm heading for the open road.

Man, it feels great to be riding.  I went for a solo quickie ride this morning--up PCH, Malibu Cyn, to the Rockstore, and back again.  It was a beautiful ride and the ocean looked like a sapphire.  Getting back on the f4i felt completely natural.  Hope to see you guys soon.

Good to see you getting back out there Peter!  And yeah that warehouse at OTD is full of goodies.  I wouldn't mind a Speed Triple myself.   ;D
