What are you waiting for... Pull the trigger! ;D

The shock and steering dampener are worth $1000.00 alone.

Yeah these are some expensive goodies:

• Power Commander
• GPR Steering Dampener
• Ohlins Rear Shock
• Ohlins Internal Fork Kit

Of course the suspension and damper may need minor maintenance, but those are nice parts.  Also find out how much the dude weighs just to make sure the suspension is at least close to being sprung for your weight.

I did ask and he's exactly my weight - 180lbs.

I asked:

What rider weight is the bike geared for?

How many times has it been down?

Has it had engine work done?  Etc.

What was its history in terms of street use?

He says the following:

The bike's suspension and gearing is for a rider who weighs 180lbs roughly.

It has had the engine done by Clint Solomon at AIP racing in Van Nuys. Its not too exotic, just more bottom and mid, better for coming out of corners.

Im not sure how many times its been down, we are the third owner, the bike belonged to Jason DiSalvo then another guy bought it for track use, we bought it form him. I know we never had it down.

As far as I know its never been on the street.

Jason DiSalvo!!

I followed up with basically, "I just want a track bike with no mechanical issues." to which he said:

The bike doesnt have any mechanical issues, it still runs strong. We've always maintained it well and kept it in good shape. The bike is located in the high desert, Hesperia CA 92345.

What do you guys think?  Provided I can locate a suitable place to store it.

Should I worry about things like a title?  What if it ends up it was stolen?  Am I just paranoid?

A lot of track bikes are sold with just a bill of sale and not a title.  If the title is missing you can still go through the duplicate title thing with the DMV providing that the bike and engine VIN numbers are clear.  Having a title was a consideration when I bought my track bike.  It safeguards you in case someone steals your bike and then gets a duplicate title for the bike in their name.

Do you like mochi?

I'm supposed to see it tomorrow.  However, unless he's willing to hold it for me, I have to talk him into keeping it for me.  I have the cash transferring between accounts, and it's supposed to land in there on Monday.  It better, because I have to leave for Boston (work) on Tuesday morning.

I intend to buy that bike.  Hopefully it was meant to be!
