Dude, this is awesome!

TELL ME that this isn't a RoboTech Third Generation (the Invid series) mech.

The future is now, gang.  LOL

I wanted that toy so bad when I was a kid.  I also wanted a veritech.  I didn't want just any veritech, though.  It had to be Roy Foker's veritech.

A few years back,  bought the Robotech DVD.  Trust me on this, it's really lame compared to how you remember it.

Oh man this thread is going to expose my inner geek.   :(

So yes, the Robotech new generation cyclones would be the ultimate motorcycle.

I uh... have some of the toys... and all the DVDs.  Yeah the animation's lame but now I find it all hilarious instead of cool.

Dude, I have seen them (bought a used disc that was part of the Macross series used at Blockbuster once) since I've grown up and I think they're both hilarious and cool!  But yeah they don't measure up to how cool I remember them being.

However, and I was talking about this with a coworker the other day, Macross was a cartoon meant for children, I think, but it did deal with more adult themed issues, like death, unrequited love, separation anxiety and holocaust.  I think it was a great cartoon for its time.

Time to get really geeky!

I don't know about the accuracy of all this since I read it online, but the Robotech was actually 3 separate japanese movies that were made into one continuous story line.  The first generation was from a movie named Macross.  Big surprise there.  They took bits of the animation from each of the movies and added a ton of extra animation to create an entire series.  It makes sense.  If you look watch the Macross Saga DVD, you'll see parts where the animation is pretty good, but it's pretty horrible for the most part.  If you fellow geeks get a chance, check out Macross Zero.  It's got the best robot/fighter jet battle scenes evar!
