i had an epiphany
« on: November 27, 2006, 12:00:23 AM »
Over this thaksgiving i rode my Cbr954 over 300 miles on I-10. During that time i had a fair share of close calls, as one would expect from a holiday season.  I began thinking about ways that i could raise awareness about motorcyclists on our freeways, so that motorists will be more vigilant in looking for us on bikes.  Now i am not a great writer, or speaker, and most people these days dont have the time to educate themselves about it.  So i thought to myself the best way to raise awareness would be to rewrite the DMV written test, which is mandatory for any licensed driver to complete at least once, to include questions about motorcycles.  What do you all think about this? And who knows how to go about putting it into action. Safe riding on our part is only half the battle, it is necessary to educate motorists and condition them to look for bikes.

while they're at it... they should re-write the moto handbook/test as well.

anybody know when was the last time DMV updated their test and handbook?
